Write a 300-word essay in which you analyze the character development of one of the characters from a text that we have read this week using at least one literary device. You may NOT use a class example such as Rose’s name as symbolism word for word. DO NOT use more than 50 words from the text.  Using this hooK:

These things started to change him/her so much that when _________________happened, he/she ____________________.By the end of the play, he/she was not _______________like he/she was at the beginning. Instead, he/she was _________________.  
This assessment is designed to evaluate your proficiency in the following standards: CCSS: W.11-12.4 – Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience. (6 point value) CCSS: RL.11-12.3. Analyze the impact of the author’s choices regarding how to develop and relate elements of the story or drama (for example, where the story is set, how the action is ordered, and how the characters are introduced and developed). (6 point value) CCSS: RI.11-12.1 – Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text including determining where the text leaves matters uncertain.  You will produce clear and coherent writing that is well organized and edited. After reading and watching excerpts from “Fences”  
Cite by the act when appropriate. For example “In act I, Sc ii when Troy tells Cory that …” This means whenever you are paraphrasing or referring back to the text.
