For this exercise, you will observe a joking situation in which someone tells a joke or someone is teasing another person. Discuss why someone may not find a joke funny and how joking is sometimes “dangerous”. Once you observe a joking situation, provide an ethnographic description of the situation and answer the following questions: 1. Who told the joke? (Or who is doing the teasing?) 2. What is the relationship between the joker and those being joked? 3. Analyze why the situation is funny. 4. What would an outsider have to know in order to understand the joke? 5.
